Amanda is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW). She has over 12 years of experience working with children and families. Amanda was born and raised in Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School. She attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree. She received her Undergraduate Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University, and graduated from Newman University (Wichita, KS) in 2009 with a Graduate Degree in Social Work. In 2012 Amanda graduated from Mid America Nazarene University (Olathe, KS) with a certificate in Play Therapy, and is currently a registered play therapist.
Amanda’s most recent experience includes working in private practice. She currently works with developmentally/intellectually disabled adults, adult individuals, couples, and children. Her previous experience includes working within the child welfare field where she worked with children and families, foster families, kinship families, and adoptive families. This experience included providing assistance in maintaining placement stability, assisting families with finding community resources, and making referrals for services while leading families to reunification. During this time she provided services to children and adults with depression and anxiety; in addition to providing parenting skills. Prior to this Amanda worked at a mental health agency in Wichita where she provided direct care for children with SED (Severe Emotional Disturbance) services. She also worked at the Department of Children and Families in Wichita, and has several years of experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
In 2014 Amanda started her private practice at Complete Circle Counseling and Coaching Center. Amanda practices different therapy types including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and different Play Therapy techniques. She has also received advanced training and education on trauma, and has experience working with traumatized children. Amanda is passionate about mental health and helping children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families succeed in reaching their personal goals. In 2016 Amanda opened a second location in Arlington, Kansas in an effort to expand her practice to the communities of rural Reno County.
